For some the 4th of July is just a paid Holiday

For others it means much more

To me it's a day to remember

All those who came before

Those who served in Uniform

They paid for our freedom you see

They risk their lives to get

What did not come easily

So now we have our freedom

Independence from unjust rule

Hard fought and harder won

We are nobodies tool

They started on the path

Many more have followed

Never losing the battle

Fighting to keep what was won

But now they keep the fight over there

Protecting this land and the people

Keeping the war far from our shore

So please remember the soldier

The ones who do not come home

They gave their all to protect you

They did it far from home
