Fire Works Happy New Year 2012

Advertise | AdChoices

It's New Year's once again

Time to celebrate with family and friends

To raise a glass on high

At how the year has passed on bye

To give a toast to the New Year

An say how will change for the better this year

Some will say they'll get in shape

Others just make a promise to lose weight

Still some will do what they can to give up smoking

At the end of next year they might say they where joking

As for me I have but one wish

To be here next year to make the same wish

Happy New Years Everybody

This is wonderful, Tony! Ah, and I have heard the "no more smoking" resolution a few times. Every year, it turns out they were joking! My wishes for you for 2012 are miles of your grandchildren's smiles, good health to you and yours and that all your dreams come true.

Oh my, this is so almost me. Breaking it down here:

"Rhonda will resolve to finally give up smoking,

By noon New Years day, she'll swear she was only joking"

Happy New Year, Tony! I like reading your stuff. Thanks for sharing!

It's been me for years now. I swear I'm gonna quit. I stop for a day or 2 and then somebody goes and buys me a pack. As usual I get a gun to me head and they swear if I don't light up their gonna pull the trigger. Something about being a grumpy, evil, vindictive troll, and an ill mannered a-hole. Guess I get a little cranky :P

Tony, thanks for the poem. Ten years ago, I made a resolution: "My New Year's Resolution, is that this shall be my last New Year's Resolution!" So far, I've managed to keep it! How many people can say that they've kept a New Year's resolution for ten years?

LOL...You got point there :)

I been keeping mine since I started making it for more than 20 years. Granted the only one I've kept is to be here next year. Started making that one the first time I got sent to Iraq :)

Tony, as usual I loved it! The poem was so true, honest, serious and also had an interjection of humor in it to bring a smile to one's face and to cause one to reflect on past New Years! I truly wish you and your's a Happy and safe New year! By the way, if the little drummer boy just happen's to be awake at the stroke of midnight, you might could just entice him to do a small solo! I would then take a picture or even film it and post it on you-tube with the title " Let the Midnight Special, Shine it's ever lovin light on you!" I really do think that would be a win, win situation for ya! Just giving you something to think about. I'll be looking forward to seeing you later from your friend "ytc!": Alias, " oldtincan ." I have got to remember to thank Rhonda for the "ytc" as it does have a nice ring to it!

OMIGOSH, that tickled me to bits!! Omigosh, I can't stop the giggles; that just slays me!! I would give a few hundred bucks to have seen your son's face ...!

By the way, just as a warning, over on js's slang vine, your family might be surprised how many of us want to be adopted to your family and are thinking of ways to start the paperwork. Just sayin' ....

Ah, Tony, this is also what I wish for every New Year is to do it all over again. Your poem is so sweet, thanks. I once celebrated many "New Years" each year. The one Jan 1, The Chinese New Year, my birthday and the first day back to the school year. All were mighty divine.

The children loved it when I greeted them with "Happy New Year" at the beginning of school. I think new starts are wonderful so I take advantage when I can.
