All I want for Christmas

Is a small thing to ask

All I want for Christmas

Might seem like a lot to ask

All I want for Christmas

Is one very special gift

All I want for Christmas

Is this one special wish

I wish for all to be happy

I wish for all only joy

I wish for all the little children to receive one special toy

I wish for all the Doctors to save every patient

I wish for for every life to be treated as sacred

My wish might sound big

It's just a little thing

I want everyone to live on this special day

I want our inner child to feel the joy of life

Let the world know true Peace

On this Christmas Night.

That puppy will go great with this gift-wrapped cat! No kitties were harmed in the filming of this video.

Tony, the little girl who gets so much out of your poetry, the one with the returned vet hubby, is leaving the firm on December 31 to go to nursing school full-time at Baylor. After I read this, she came and told me she was leaving, that she will tell the rest of the firm next week of her departure [other than HR, of course]. She came to ask me if I could copy your stuff and send it to her. I told her I had to ask you. It's a law firm, Tony, so she knows she cannot distribute it or claim it. She said that she knew that; she only wants it for her personal enjoyment. I think that's what's been bothering her; quitting and going to school full-time with her hubby newly returned. But she said she knows she has to seize these moments when they arrive and a lot of your poetry has steered her in that direction.

Please tell her I don't mind unless she is selling it. I've been thinking about taking all of the poems and turning them into a book of poems sometime in the future. Kinda like that "Chicken Soup for the Soul" but since I Publish them on the Vine I don't know what Legal Issues I might face myself when/if I do. It would be bad enough if I found out that I couldn't do so without being sued and I wouldn't want that to happen to someone else either.

Besides I write because I enjoy it and not because I think I can make money. I just want those who do read what I write to find that they smile after reading or feel good because they found a new way to view the world.

I'm sure she would never. She looked stricken that I would even mention it. I know it has helped her over some rough times. And, as I mentioned, we are all very well versed that an item does not need to be copyrighted in order for it to be considered proprietary material. It's theft. As I said, she felt bad that I brought it up, but I had to.

As far as legal issues go, I think that although it is on the vine, the vine is considered a "forum" in which to allow others to enjoy your poetry. So what you write is owned by you. But I could be wrong. It's been known to happen a time or two.

In any event, you still have your groupies. That'll be a fun one to tell you grandkids. Grampa's got groupies. teehee.

LOL

Grampa's got groupies. teehee.

Now that is something I can stretch into a wonderful story for them. Something like how all my clothes got riped right off my body by the flash mob at a book signing.

Now kids if you ever get into the entertainment business you gotta be careful. Once I was doing a book signing when all of these women suddenly rushed the table. They knocked out the security guards, grabbed me, and then they kissed me all over, and started to tear off all my clothing. It took the cops 2 hours to rescue me from them. Man I was exhausted after that and no you can't ask what happened in those 2 hours. It's the reason for all those Paternity suits I had to go to court for :)

Goodness, I LOVE you guys! It's the Petsmart all over again. mstanley, I told Tony a while ago that a father, grandfather and little boy about 7 were picking out puppies. Watching them was absolutely a delight. The grandfather reminded me of some laugh-out-loud stories Tony has told about his grampa antics. The grandad obviously said "let's go get you a puppy for Christmas," and dad looked not crazy about it. You could cut the love and the loving "revenge" feeling with a knife. It was a classic moment, one that looked like it could be captured by Norman Rockwell.

Life is good at the moment, Tony & thank you for asking. Yes, today i received a beautiful book from my son's
girlfriend who moved to Las Vegas, Nv. It is called Grace for the Moment. A day by day scriptural to meditate on.
She has such a kind & sweet soul. I have had a great year schooling her & she knows when to be tough; on this kid.

I sure hope you had a wonderful Christmas. And hope all your future days are filled with everything meaningful
in your life...even if it is only for a moment....)

Not only a sweet young lady but caring an strong. He picked a good one and you made sure of it :)

Yes I did get what I wanted but not just gifts but the women in my son's lives. Not only can they keep them in line but they are strong and supportive women who never let them doubt what they can achieve. The word failure was never part of my life vocabulary and now my son's have wives who make sure it isn't in their lives :)

She got her Master's before he did, haha...I would but have to wait until they come back to the States. They're in Japan, but should be here in May. 19 years, only got to see them 3 times and him 4...:) but have lots of photos, emails, phone calls occasionally. The oldest is on Facebook now too. :)

I'm really, really looking forward to seeing them next year...They're going to be in California.

Ouch that is a long time. Come to think of it I put my Mom through the same thing. Came home on leave each time I got a new asignment which was every 2 or 3 years.

Well I'm signing off for the night but it looks like you'll be getting your best gift come May. Enjoy and don't forget the HUGSSSSS :)

A friend once told me that the best gift you can give is one from the heart. I took those words from my Dad to heart. Now I have friends around the world and these poems are my way to still share my heart with them :)
