I sit and listen to the birds sing

I buy my wife flowers while hoping no bee will sting

I buy a new gadget but how do you use it

I find that life is a funny thing

You never know what each day will bring

Sometimes it's dreams of riches and gold

Sometimes it's adventures of being so bold

There are times a nightmare might sneak by

Who knows what dreams tonight will bring by

Then there are times the day makes us laugh

You just can't help it and it flys by so fast

Today was like that and yesterday to

Oh how I wonder if tomorrow will do

Another today an I hope it will be

Another day of fun and joy you see

Another dream of mirth and fun

Just a day for everyone

Yes it's life lived so care free

That's why it's Funny

And why you just have to laugh

Sorry about posting so late and I'm really sorry I forgot what day it was last week. Things have been like a mad house around here.

On a bright note my grand kids had fun and everything they need for school plus more has now been taken care of. In fact the reason for the late post is I went and picked up our oldest grand child just so I could take her to school myself. My son wanted to but they wouldn't let him off from work.

Thank You :)

We just found out we have another grand child on the way. I don't know if I'll be able to sleep I'm so excited for them. She is barley showing so they decided to keep it a secret until they found out the baby's sex and it's a boy. That will make 3 girls and 3 boys total :)

Very nice. It is very encouraging to see more poetry being published on Newsvine. I would encourage you to share more of your thoughts through poetry. Much to much attention goes to the flame wars all about us. I have almost quit my participation in the political. I still read much of it, I just don't feel the need to comment on it knowing that what I say might lead to further escalate the conflict. Your poem is uplifting. Thanks.

    Thank You :)

I know what you mean. The only reason I still do the Politics is because I can't stand it when people post blatant lies. I do try to remain respectful at all times but if someone goes and insults me I give them 2 warnings. After that I switch back to Military Seek and Destroy mode an I'm good at it when I need to be. I might not be active duty any more but I haven't forgotten how to slap down an idiot who steps out of line.

Problem is that on this site I shouldn't have to do that because everyone should know the rules. What really helped me decide to stay was the groups. When I found those and people like Rottlady who control Good News Wednesday I knew there where good people here that I would enjoy talking with. Evil wins when good people do nothing but even good people need safe harbor once in awhile :)

I forgot but if you want to see or join some of the groups I joined I clipped this article and others to them. There listed just above the comments and you can click on them. If you like Poems then "The world seen through Poetry" is perfect.

Thanks Tony, I am a member of the last group you mentioned. It doesn't seem to generate much traffic. I get about 20 to 30 visitors to my poetry, just enough to keep me posting. I have considered at times resigning but those who do visit my little column are so sweet I can't. I love writing but wonder if it really makes a difference. The left and right just keep on bashing each other with no regard for any commonality. I broke my promise to myself and made a post on a serious seed a few minutes ago and now regret even putting in my two cents. Oh well even old dogs got to get off the porch to relieve themselves.

It isn't easy doing the right thing. When ever you need that pick me up you know it's there but in the meantime those other posts can be your means to making a difference. Just don't ever repeat a lie and post not just from the heart but the truth. I think you'll find that you will feel much better no matter what the other person says.
