People plan vacations all the time and I'm no exception. I look at what I might want and will list the different locations. Then check the cost and see which would be more fun to do. With our anniversary coming up I had just narrowed it down when I got an unexpected letter which of course caused us to throw out all of our plans.
Now it's not a bad thing to have happen sometimes. You spend 2 weeks saying lets stick to the budget and these locations will give us the most bang for the buck. Then someone throws in a monkey wrench and screws the whole thing up. Just happens that our monkey wrench includes a free 3 night stay with concert tickets. Yep that's some monkey wrench alright. Seems they want us back since we haven't been in awhile and have even thrown in Fifty bucks cash plus free meal voucher for the hotel restaurant. We also get a chance to win 20,000.00 on one night and on another their giving out prizes from 50.00 to 6,500.00 every hour.
If you haven't guessed it by now it's at the casino we spent our last anniversary at. This time our last night there will feature "Charlie Daniels Band" and we have free tickets. Now that's one heck of a way to say please come back. The hotel room cost alone just saved me 330.00 for where we would have been going and it's 2 hours closer driving. Sometimes things happen out of the blue that makes you wonder.
So to give credit where it's due we will be going to Cherokee NC at the invite of the Harrah's Casino & Hotel. Last time we went we didn't just gamble. Far from it because the area has a lot more to offer. If you like to fish, pan for jewels (Wifey has 2 24 kt rubies from that trip), helicopter tours, petting zoo, and the list goes on.
Seems some companies remember that the customer is what keeps them in business. While the other ones are trying to nickel and dime you to death this one decided to give back. Half the money for our original plans is going back in the bank thanks to this out of the blue offer. Granted it's from a casino but the new budget means spending 100.00 a day gambling is still cheaper than what we where going to do. Not to mention that we usually break even or come out ahead. Wondering why I can say that I bet so I'll sum it up.
No charge for the hotel, less travel time, less gas, free food, and they give the starter money so day one will cost 100 a piece but thanks to the package I save 25 a piece for the first day. Now when we gamble if we win we pocket the money we started with and gamble only with the winnings. If we get what we started with again we pocket it and whatever we have over it is what we use if we want to keep playing. If we lose we don't dip into it and there is always the next day. It works for us and I've found it's the best way to stay out of trouble. In fact if we hit a jackpot that money goes in our room and we can start fresh with just the 100.00 again. We don't even count how much it comes to if we get ahead until we get home so that there is no temptation to dip into it.
